This page sets formats and ingredients next to each other using figures already published on the Udo's Choice product pages. It does not rank one product as better for health than another.
Oil and capsules: same blend, different format
Both product pages say the capsules and the bottled oil use the same cold-pressed organic seed oil. The oil page says the base is 96.68% organic seed oil from flax, sunflower and sesame. Flax is described as the omega-3 source.
| Figure on the product pages | 2 capsules | 30ml oil (2 tbsp) |
|---|---|---|
| Omega-3 (ALA) | 0.8g | 11g |
| Omega-6 (LA) | 0.4g | 5.8g |
| Refrigeration | Not needed | Required |
| Taste | None | Noticeable |
The oil page also states 38g ALA and 19g LA per 100ml, a 2:1 omega-3 to omega-6 ratio, and that the oil is not for cooking. Oil · Capsules
Microbiotics: count, format and the age on the label
The product pages publish two counts: cells at manufacture, and cells guaranteed at expiry. They say live cultures decline over time, and that the expiry figure is what is still declared on the last day of shelf life. When a label gives only one number, those pages say to assume it is the manufacture count.
| Product | Format | At manufacture | Guaranteed at expiry | Who the label names |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Super 5's | Lozenge | 2 billion | 1 billion | Adults and children |
| Babies & Toddler's Blend | Powder | 3 billion per 1g | 1.7 billion | Children up to five |
| Children's Blend | Capsule | 5 billion | 3 billion | Starts at age 5 |
| Adult's Blend | Capsule | 17 billion | 10 billion | Adults aged 15 and over |
| Adult 50+ | Capsule | 34 billion | 20 billion | The 50+ formula |
| Super 8 Immune | Capsule | 42 billion | 31 billion | One capsule a day |
| Super 8 Gold | Capsule | 102 billion | 61 billion | Adults only |
Super 8 Immune is stated as 91% Lactobacillus. Super 8 Gold is stated as 80% Bifidobacterium. The Gold page says these two products contain broadly the same eight species in almost opposite proportions. Super 8 Immune is the only one in the range that declares 15mg vitamin C per capsule.
The collection that already groups these products is Udo's Choice Microbiotics.
Enzymes: weight is not the same as activity
The enzyme pages say there are no authorised UK health claims for digestive enzymes. They compare products by FCC activity, not by a health ranking. The standard Blend page says milligrams tell you weight and FCC units tell you activity.
| Enzyme activity on the product pages | Enzyme Blend | Enzymes Gold |
|---|---|---|
| Bromelain | 50,000 FCC PU | 500,000 FCC PU |
| Lipase | 150 FCC LU | 1,500 FCC LU |
| Protease | 12,500 FCC HUT (one protease) | 40,000 FCC HUT plus 80 FCC SAP (three proteases) |
| Alpha-galactosidase | 260 FCC GalU | 400 FCC GalU |
| Alpha-amylase | 5,000 FCC DU | 5,000 FCC DU |
| Lactase | 3,000 FCC ALU | 3,000 FCC ALU |
| Cellulase | 400 FCC CU | 275 FCC CU |
The Gold page says the two products are identical on amylase and lactase, higher on protease, lipase and bromelain, and lower on cellulase. It also says that if cellulase activity is what matters, the standard Blend has more of it. The Travel Pack page says it is the same seven-enzyme blend and the same activity per capsule as the full-size Enzyme Blend, not a reduced formula.
